19th Century Tailoring have been making costume for film and theatre for over twenty-five years. One of our first big commissions was for Buffalo Soldiers (2001), since then we have made costume regularly for Garsington Opera, The Royal Opera House and English National Opera.  We have even made bespoke Guards uniforms for Panto (John Bishop’s Redcoat for Mother Goose, 2022-2023) and Regency uniforms for productions of Quality Street. 19th Century Tailoring were commissioned to make frockcoats for Doctor Who: Time Fracture (Immersive Theatre) and more recently we made 1790s-1830s civilian outfits for Scrooge the Musical (Arizona Theatre Company (2023). This required multiples of the same costume for the chorus, made from bright red and yellow woollen cloth. We can turn our hand to most things and are always up for a challenge.

The items available as standard on our website are an indication of what we can do, but as everything is individually made, we are able to adapt or work from a design of your own to make your ideas and dreams come to life.
